Partnership Drives Production
As our industry continues to recover and adapt to a changing production landscape, one thing has remained constant: Successful productions are built on strong partnerships.
For more than ninety years, the members of IATSE Local 695 have provided the professional expertise that allows productions to move efficiently from pre-production through final wrap. Whether working in production sound, video playback, video assist, communications, studio projection, or one of our many specialized classifications, our members bring the knowledge, experience, and dedication that today’s productions demand.
Technology continues to transform how films and television programs are produced. Virtual production, LED volumes, IP-based workflows, cloud collaboration, and increasingly sophisticated audio and video systems have changed the way productions operate. These advances create exciting opportunities, but they also require highly trained professionals who can adapt quickly while maintaining the reliability that producers and directors depend on.
At Local 695, we believe that investing in skilled professionals, benefits everyone. Experienced crews help productions stay on schedule, solve technical challenges before they become costly delays, and maintain the high standards audiences have come to expect. Just as important is the relationship between labor and management. While collective bargaining establishes the framework for wages, benefits, and working conditions, it is the day-to-day collaboration between employers and skilled union professionals that allows productions to succeed. Every completed production represents thousands of decisions made by people working together toward a common goal.
As production continues to expand across multiple platforms and technologies, Local 695 remains committed to working with producers, studios, and vendors to meet the evolving needs of our industry. We recognize the challenges facing production today, just as employers recognize the value that experienced union professionals bring to every project. Our mission has always been straightforward: protect the standards that have made this industry successful while embracing the innovation that will shape its future.
When labor and management work together with mutual respect and a shared commitment to excellence, everyone benefits—the employer, the crew, and ultimately, the audience.
On behalf of the officers, staff, and nearly two thousand members of Local 695, thank you to the studios, producers, employers, and signatory companies that continue to invest in skilled union professionals. We look forward to continuing our partnership and building an even stronger motion picture and television industry together.
In Solidarity,
